Community rules
Last updated October 20, 2026
Purple works because people are kind to each other. Before a chat opens, both of you accept these four rules.
- Be kind. Talk like you would with a friend.
Warm, easy, respectful. Disagree if you like, but never put the other person down.
- No pressure and no flirting.
Purple is for talking and making friends. Don’t push anyone to share more, meet up, move to another app or answer faster than they want.
- No spam, no selling.
No ads, links to promote things, chain messages or asking for money. Don’t offer to buy or sell Purple Token, accounts or anything else.
- If someone says no, that’s okay.
“No”, “not now” and no reply are all fine answers. Let it be and move on.
Never okay in Purple
- Threats, bullying, hate or harassment of any kind.
- Sexual messages or images.
- Scams, asking for money, passwords, login codes or seed phrases.
- Sharing someone’s private information or messages without their permission.
- Pretending to be someone else, or using extra accounts.
- Anything that involves people under 18, or anything else against the law.
Photos
You can send photos in chats with the paperclip. Every photo is checked automatically before it is sent, and photos with nudity, sexual content or violence don’t go through. The first photo from someone arrives blurred, and you decide whether you want to see photos from that person. Only send photos the other person would be glad to get, and only photos you have the right to share.
Posts
Posts in the feed are public: everyone in Purple can see them, and the same rules apply as in chats. No links, @names or ads. Only post photos you have the right to share: every photo is checked before it is published. If you disagree with a post, quote it with your own view, kindly. If a post breaks these rules, report it: 3 reports from different people hide it, and our team looks at it.
Hands
A hand is support. Never ask for hands in exchange for money, and don’t buy or sell hands outside Purple.
Aura
From time to time Purple asks how you feel next to someone. Answer honestly, about how the talk felt. Never use it to get back at someone, and never ask anyone how they answered. Nobody sees anyone’s aura.
If something feels off
- You never have to keep talking. Just stop replying.
- If someone is rude, pushy or asks you for money, write to support@thepurple.app or @Purple_helpcenter_bot with their nickname and what happened. A screenshot helps.
- Purple staff never ask for passwords, Telegram login codes, seed phrases or prepayment. If someone does, it isn’t us.
When rules are broken
We may warn someone, remove what they sent or posted, limit their hellos or chats, or suspend or close their account. These rules are part of the Terms of Use.
